Susan Drayson
“Miss Susan” began her teaching career as a music specialist and primary classroom teacher at Ayr Public School in Waterloo County. In 1998, Susan moved to Calgary, Alberta to acquire a Masters of Music degree in Music Education. While there, Susan taught three to seven-year-olds in the Early Childhood Kodály Musicianship Program at Mount Royal Conservatory, of which she later became Program Co-ordinator. Susan furthered her teaching experience at the Conservatory in the ‘Music with Your Baby Program’ (for infants through three-year-olds) and as a sessional instructor of music education at the University of Calgary. She has also presented numerous music education workshops, taught voice and piano, and volunteered as a church chorister and organist. In the summer of 2011, Susan returned to Southern Ontario to be closer to family. Susan is delighted to be joining the faculty of The Beckett School where she looks forward to sharing her love of teaching children and music.
