Janet vanderSpek studied piano with Jane McKay, Susanne  While at WLU, she also studied pipe organ with Barrie Cabena and Jan Overduin. 

Christine Klaver-Schmidt and Janet have been performing as a piano duet team for many years and were regular performers in the Concert Series at First United Church in Waterloo.Janet is an accompanist and teaches piano and pipe organ in her studio in Woodstock. Past teaching experience includes many years with the Beckett School in Waterloo where her students have won scholarships in the Kiwanis Festival.She has served on the Provincial Council of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association and has been a member of that professional group throught the years of teaching.

 Janet is the Music Director at Knox Presbyterian Church in Woodstock. Eugena Rhiel,flautist and Janet perform in the ensemble Ivory and Gold and have released two C.D.'s: Just Christmas and Handel Sonatas and More. A third one based on The Great War Composers is soon to be available.Recently Janet began accompanying soprano Gwenlynn Little.
