Corinne Dutton
Corinne Dutton B.Mus, MMus, has taught at the Beckett School for twelve years. She loves teaching all levels, and has had great success entering students for piano exams and music festivals. She has taught from beginners up to ARCT level in piano, and some of her piano students have gone on to provincial and national levels in music festival competitions. Her philosophy of teaching is that although not all students will be performers, the discipline of studying music provides students with excellent skills that will enhance many facets of their lives. She integrates a variety of different styles of music into every student’s lessons so that learning music can also be fun. Repertoire is chosen specifically to suit the needs of the individual student. Her students are encouraged to participate in ensembles, masterclasses, various Beckett School events such as the Pops recital and she has two studio recitals a year. In addition to teaching, she is the Music Director of a large downtown church, where she conducts four choirs and is an active organ recitalist. She also does piano accompanying.
