Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for dates of workshops which are scheduled on request.
Described as a rising star of the Canadian music scene (kwjazzroom.com), and as a performer who has her “audience enthralled throughout the entire show” (Thornbury Paper), Mary-Catherine is a jazz vocalist, voice teacher, and educator. Since her childhood growing up in Kitchener-Waterloo, Mary-Catherine’s passion has been singing and performing vocal jazz. She loves exploring the endless repertoire of jazz standards, and making the sublime lyrics her own with a nostalgic, yet modern, flair.
Mary-Catherine has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Music and Drama from University of Waterloo, and a B.Ed from University of Toronto. Performance highlights include a Summer 2014 performance tour of New Zealand with her trio, acclaimed Great American Songbook concerts in Southern Ontario, annual concerts at Kitchener’s Registry Theatre and Waterloo’s The Jazz Room in Waterloo, the Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival, and performances at high-profile Toronto jazz clubs such as The Rex.
Mary-Catherine is equally at home in the education world, as the Artistic Director of Jazz in the Schools, and its newest expansion, Jazz for Adults. Mary-Catherine conducts weekly jazz workshops at area high schools, and her students are featured as performers at The Jazz Room and other local music venues.
