Sarah Cardwell has many years of experience mentoring oboists of all levels and ages. She loves the diversity her work brings her, allowing her to share music with students at various stages of their journeys.
Sarah has taught music in many different contexts. She teaches private oboe lessons at local secondary schools. She has taught the Oboe Techniques course at Wilfred Laurier University. She is also a qualified Music for Young Children teacher.
Sarah Cardwell holds a Master of Music degree in Oboe Performance from the University of British Columbia. She also studied at the Vancouver Academy of Music, McGill University, and Eastman School of Music. She has also toured as a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and has attended Masterclasses at the Banff Centre for the Arts.
When Sarah isn’t teaching, she works as a professional freelancer, playing the oboe with orchestras throughout Southern Ontario. She has performed with the KW Symphony, KW Chamber Orchestra, Stratford Symphony, Elora Festival Singers, and the Niagara Symphony, to name a few.
Sarah is very happy to join the Beckett School as an oboe teacher!
